Osteopathic care in the teaching clinic takes place under the same conditions as a traditional practice, under the supervision of a mentoring osteopath who may intervene during the session to guide and advise the students.
An osteopathy session typically lasts about 45 minutes and unfolds in four successive stages: :
The student asks you a series of questions about your health (surgical history, obstetrics, etc.) and inquires about the reason for your consultation.
A series of tests related to the reason for consultation is conducted to establish an osteopathic diagnosis.
Based on the tests performed, the student develops an intervention plan under the supervision of their mentor.
At the end of the consultation, the student may provide you with a list of recommendations (such as stretches) to maintain the benefits of the osteopathic session.
Attention: The osteopath in no way replaces the family doctor or pediatrician. Serious conditions should primarily be monitored and treated by a physician or other healthcare professional.
