Becoming an osteopath is much more than mastering theoretical knowledge. It’s about learning to listen, analyze, adapt, and help. At the Institut d’Enseignement de l’Ostéopathie du Québec, we offer a stimulating, structured, and human-centered training environment, based on experiential learning and the development of practical skills.
Our full-time program spans 4 years and is built on a balance between theory (50%) and practice (50%), allowing you to progress at your own pace.

An active and engaging educational approach

Students are at the heart of their learning process: our pedagogy draws on adult learning principles (andragogy) and encourages motivation, autonomy, and critical thinking. This approach relies on various methods:

  • Case studies, role-playing, flipped classrooms.
  • Small group work and collaborative projects.
  • Learning journals.
  • Self-assessments.
  • Personalized feedback.
  • Clinical simulations using Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
  • Dissection Workshops.

All course materials, for every subject, are accessible via our online platform.

OSCEs: A standard of excellence for assessing clinical skills

In pursuit of educational excellence, IEOQ has integrated Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) into its curriculum. These are multi-“station” exams where students interact with simulated patients under the observation of evaluators to test their clinical skills in real-life scenarios. This assessment method, widely used in healthcare education, is a recognized standard for objectively measuring clinical competencies.

Our decision aligns with our commitment to:

  • Adopt a competency-based approach as the foundation of our educational strategy.
  • Standardize evaluations in practical subjects.
  • Ensure objective assessment of competencies.
  • Provide a fair evaluation system.
  • Introduce best practices from the academic field.
